§ 1. General Provisions

  1. These Terms of Service define the types, scope and conditions of providing electronic services via the Szczecin.co city portal (hereinafter: the "Service"), the rules for concluding and terminating service agreements, and the complaints procedure.
  2. These Terms constitute the terms of service referred to in Art. 8 of the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on the provision of electronic services.
  3. The Service Provider is Michał Woźniak operating under the business name HEXGRID Michał Woźniak with its registered office in Szczecin (ul. Bagienna 36C, 70-772 Szczecin, Poland), NIP: 9552112428, REGON: 320190228.

  5. Szczecin.co is a city information portal for Szczecin, aggregating information about cultural and civic events, places, local businesses, cinema and theatre repertoire, city news, and providing an AI assistant for questions about Szczecin.
  6. Before using the Service, the User is required to read these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

§ 2. Definitions

  • Administrator, Michał Woźniak operating under HEXGRID Michał Woźniak, also acting as the Service Provider.
  • AI Assistant, a conversational assistant built into the Service, based on a large language model (LLM), answering questions about Szczecin.
  • Account, an individual User panel in the Service's IT system, enabling management of own content (listings, event submissions, business profile).
  • Consumer, a natural person entering into a legal act with the Service Provider not directly related to their business or professional activity.
  • Listing, textual content with optional graphics, posted by a User in the listings section of the Service.
  • Privacy Policy, a document defining the rules for processing Users' personal data, available at szczecin.co/polityka-prywatnosci.
  • Portal / Service, the website available at szczecin.co, operated by the Service Provider.
  • Business Profile, a page in the Service's business directory presenting information about a given entrepreneur.
  • Terms, these Terms of Service of Szczecin.co.
  • GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016.
  • User Content, all content (listings, event submissions, business profile data) created and published in the Service by the User.
  • User, any natural person with full legal capacity, legal entity, or organizational unit without legal personality having legal capacity, using the Service.
  • Service Provider, Michał Woźniak operating under HEXGRID Michał Woźniak (ul. Bagienna 36C, 70-772 Szczecin), NIP: 9552112428, REGON: 320190228.
  • Event Submission, a form enabling the User to submit an event for review by the Service's editorial team.

§ 3. Technical Requirements

  1. To use the Service properly, the following are required: (a) an end device (computer, tablet or smartphone) with Internet access, (b) an up-to-date browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge, supporting JavaScript and cookies, (c) an active email account (required only for Account registration).
  2. The Service Provider implements security mechanisms including: (a) SSL certificate for encrypted data transmission, (b) firewall systems, (c) regular backups.
  3. The Service Provider is not liable for technical problems or limitations in the hardware or telecommunications infrastructure used by the User that prevent proper use of the Service.

§ 4. Rules of Using the Service

  1. Browsing Service content (events, places, businesses, repertoire, news) is free of charge and does not require Account registration.
  2. An Account is required to: (a) add listings, (b) submit events for publication, (c) manage a business profile, (d) use selected personalization features.
  3. The User is obliged to use the Service in accordance with applicable law, these Terms, good customs and social coexistence principles.
  4. It is prohibited to provide content prohibited by applicable law, in particular content violating third-party rights, offensive content, content promoting violence or hatred, or spam.
  5. The User is obliged to provide only true, current and complete data required during registration and use of the Service.
  6. The Service Provider has the right to suspend or delete the Account of a User who violates these Terms or applicable law.
  7. Automated content collection (scraping) beyond the scope of manual browsing is prohibited without prior written consent of the Service Provider.

§ 5. User Account

  1. Account registration is optional and free of charge. An Account enables management of own content in the Service.
  2. A service agreement for an Account is concluded by: (a) completing the registration form (first name, email address, password), (b) accepting the Terms and Privacy Policy, (c) clicking "Register".
  3. The User may register via a Google account or other supported external services.
  4. The User may terminate the Account service agreement at any time without giving reasons by sending a notice to kontakt@szczecin.co or by deleting the Account in settings.
  5. The Service Provider may terminate the Account service agreement with 14 days' notice in the event of a User's violation of these Terms.
  6. An Account is non-transferable, it may not be traded or transferred to another person.
  7. The Service Provider confirms registration by sending an email to the address provided by the User.

§ 6. Services

  1. The Service provides Users free of charge with the following information services: (a) browsing cultural and civic events, (b) directory of places in Szczecin (restaurants, cafés, cultural institutions, etc.), (c) directory of local businesses and entrepreneurs, (d) cinema, theatre and philharmonic repertoire, (e) city news, (f) information on city investments and public transport.
  2. Registered Users additionally have access to: (a) adding classified listings, (b) submitting events for publication, (c) managing a business profile.
  3. The Service Provider reserves the right to change the scope of free services and introduce paid services with appropriate notice to Users.
  4. The Service Provider will make every effort to ensure the Service is available 24/7, subject to maintenance and technical downtime. For planned downtime exceeding 2 hours, Users will be notified in advance.

§ 7. User Content

  1. A User with an Account may publish Listings and submit events for publication in the Service.
  2. The User bears sole responsibility for the content and legal compliance of User Content they publish.
  3. It is prohibited to publish content that: (a) violates applicable law, (b) infringes third-party rights (including copyright and personal rights), (c) contains personal data of third parties without their consent, (d) constitutes spam or unlawful advertising, (e) is offensive, discriminatory or incites hatred, (f) is unrelated to the Service's subject matter.
  4. The Service Provider reserves the right to moderate User Content and remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law, without prior notice to the User.
  5. Listings are free of charge. A Listing is visible for the period specified upon submission. The User may delete their own Listing at any time.
  6. Event submissions are subject to review by the Service's editorial team. The Service Provider does not guarantee publication of every submitted event.
  7. By publishing User Content, the User grants the Service Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store and archive that content in the Service.

§ 8. Business Profile

  1. The Service provides a free business directory in which any entrepreneur operating in Szczecin or the surrounding area may have a Business Profile.
  2. Profile data may come from: (a) public state registries (CEIDG, KRS, REGON), (b) data supplemented by the entrepreneur after taking over profile management.
  3. An entrepreneur may request to manage their Business Profile via the dedicated form in the Service or by contacting kontakt@szczecin.co.
  4. Business Profile management is free of charge. A profile manager may supplement and update company data (description, opening hours, photos, contact details).
  5. The Service Provider reserves the right to verify and remove data in a Business Profile that violates these Terms or is inaccurate.
  6. The Service Provider is not responsible for the currency of data in a Business Profile that has not been updated by the profile manager.

§ 9. AI Assistant

  1. The Service provides a conversational assistant based on a large language model (LLM) that answers questions about Szczecin: events, places, history, transport, offices and city life.
  2. Responses generated by the AI assistant are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal, medical, financial or any other professional advice.
  3. The Service Provider does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of responses generated by the AI assistant. Responses may contain errors or inaccuracies.
  4. The AI assistant does not retain conversation history after a session ends. Query content may be passed to the AI model provider solely to generate a response, without User identifying data.
  5. It is prohibited to deliberately mislead the AI assistant, attempt to obtain unlawful content, breach system security (prompt injection) or circumvent model safeguards.
  6. The Service Provider reserves the right to limit or disable the AI assistant feature at any time.

§ 10. Data from Public Registries

  1. The Service presents data on companies and entrepreneurs obtained from public state registries: the Central Registry and Information on Business Activity (CEIDG), the National Court Register (KRS) and the REGON register.
  2. Company data obtained from public registries (company name, NIP, REGON, registered address, business activity) constitutes public information. In accordance with established interpretations, such data is generally not personal data within the meaning of the GDPR insofar as it relates exclusively to an entrepreneur's business activity.
  3. Processing of data from public registries is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest, operating a business directory) and the principle of public registry transparency.
  4. An entrepreneur whose data is presented in the Service may request correction, supplementation or, where there are legal grounds, removal of data, by contacting kontakt@szczecin.co.
  5. The Service Provider will make efforts to keep registry data current, but is not responsible for delays in synchronization resulting from public registry update cycles.

§ 11. Liability of the Service Provider

  1. The Service operates as a city information portal. The Service Provider will make efforts to ensure that the information presented (on events, places, businesses, repertoire) is current and accurate, but does not guarantee its completeness, accuracy or currency, as some data comes from external sources.
  2. The Service Provider is not liable for: (a) content published by Users (listings, submissions, business profile data supplemented by managers), (b) use of the Service by the User in violation of these Terms or applicable law, (c) consequences of the User providing false or incomplete data, (d) content generated by the AI assistant.
  3. The Service Provider is not liable for Service disruptions resulting from: (a) force majeure, (b) telecommunications or hardware failures beyond the Service Provider's control, (c) planned maintenance.
  4. The Service Provider is not liable for the currency of timetables, cinema/theatre repertoire or other information depending on external entities. Before acting on information from the Service, verification directly with the organizer/institution is recommended.

§ 12. Complaints

  1. The User has the right to lodge a complaint in connection with non-performance or improper performance of Services by the Service Provider.
  2. Complaints should be submitted electronically to: kontakt@szczecin.co or in writing to the Service Provider's registered office.
  3. A complaint should include at least: (a) the User's name or company name, (b) email address, (c) detailed description of the problem, (d) date of occurrence, (e) the User's request.
  4. The Service Provider processes complaints within 14 days of receipt. Failure to respond within 14 days of receiving a Consumer's complaint means the complaint is considered justified.
  5. The response to a complaint is sent to the email address provided in the complaint.

§ 13. Intellectual Property

  1. All elements of the Service, including its name, logo, graphic design, user interface, source code, databases, editorial texts and graphic materials created by the Service Provider, are the property of the Service Provider or entities with which the Service Provider has concluded relevant agreements, and are protected by Polish copyright law and other applicable regulations.
  2. Using the Service does not constitute acquisition of any rights to Service elements. Any copying, dissemination or modification of Service elements without prior written consent of the Service Provider is prohibited.
  3. Data obtained from public state registries does not constitute the Service Provider's intellectual property insofar as it constitutes publicly available information. However, the manner of their compilation, presentation and enrichment in the Service is the property of the Service Provider.
  4. By publishing User Content, the User declares they hold all rights to such content and grants the Service Provider the licence described in §7 point 7 of these Terms.

§ 14. Personal Data Processing

Detailed information regarding the processing of Users' personal data, including information on the data Controller, purposes and legal bases for processing, Users' rights, and cookies used, is contained in the Privacy Policy available at szczecin.co/polityka-prywatnosci. The Privacy Policy constitutes an integral part of these Terms.

§ 15. Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution

  1. The provisions of this section apply exclusively to Consumers.
  2. A Consumer may use out-of-court complaint resolution and claims enforcement methods, including: (a) applying to a permanent consumer arbitration court at the Trade Inspection, (b) applying to the regional Trade Inspection inspector for mediation, (c) obtaining free assistance from the district (municipal) consumer ombudsman.
  3. A Consumer may also use the online dispute resolution (ODR) platform available at: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

§ 16. Amendments to the Terms

  1. The Service Provider reserves the right to amend these Terms for important reasons, such as: (a) changes in law affecting the provision of Services, (b) changes in the scope or form of Services provided, (c) introduction of new Service features, (d) organizational or technological changes, (e) necessity to comply with recommendations of state authorities.
  2. Account holders will be notified of changes to the Terms at least 14 days in advance by email and through a Service notification.
  3. A User who does not accept the amended Terms has the right to terminate the Account service agreement within 14 days of notification of the change.
  4. Failure to terminate the agreement within this period constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

§ 17. Final Provisions

  1. These Terms of Service have been in effect since 11 June 2026.
  2. These Terms are governed by Polish law. Any disputes arising from the application of these Terms shall be resolved by the court having jurisdiction over the Service Provider's registered office, subject to the proviso that in disputes with Consumers, the court shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure.
  3. Matters not regulated by these Terms shall be governed by applicable Polish law, in particular: the Civil Code, the Consumer Rights Act, the Act on the provision of electronic services, and the GDPR.
